Removal of the Hammerhead Crane at Garden Island, NSW, project was referred to the Commonwealth Environment Department for approval in 2012.
On 17 July 2013, approval for the removal of the crane was granted subject to a range of heritage protection conditions.
Following completion of the removal project and related Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act) compliance obligations, the EPBC Act approval expired on 27 June 2024. Documents related to the conditions of the project approval are available on this page.
