Encouraging Indigenous business

Defence supports the stimulation of Indigenous entrepreneurship and business development through the Commonwealth Indigenous Procurement Policy (IPP), aiming to provide Indigenous Australians with opportunities to participate in the economy through the award of Commonwealth government contracts. Defence encourages Indigenous businesses to apply for business opportunities with Defence.

Information related to Defence implementation of the IPP, including education and awareness, business matching and reporting, is available below or by contacting indigenous.procurement@defence.gov.au.

Indigenous businesses

Indigenous businesses seeking to engage with Defence should complete the IPP questionnaire and email to indigenous.procurement@defence.gov.au. Relevant Defence buyers (business areas), that match the Indigenous business' service offering, will be identified through a business matching service.
