ServiceConnect

ServiceConnect is a digital channel that enables quick and simple access to Defence services from outside and inside the Defence network.

ServiceConnect is transforming delivery of services across Defence and will continue to expand as more Defence services are added over time.

Services

ServiceConnect provides simplified access to Defence services and information.

* For security reasons, My Travel and some forms are only available to users with a valid Defence email address.

** This is only available for invited Posting members and their nominees. Defence members will need to verify that they have a valid Defence email address to access outside of the Defence network.

Access outside of the Defence network

Access ServiceConnect outside the Defence network using the Australian Government Digital Identity system for identity verification. The system uses myGovID, the Australian Government's Digital Identity app.

myGovID is different from myGov. myGovID provides proof of identity when logging in to a range of government online accounts. Whereas a myGov account gives access to online government services in one place.

myGovID can be used to access a myGov account.

Setting up a myGovID

There are 3 steps to set up a myGovID.

  1. Download the myGovID app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store to a compatible smart device. Only download the myGovID app from these official app stores as non-genuine versions may be available from other sources.
  2. Open the myGovID app and follow the prompts to enter a full name, date of birth and personal email address.
  3. Verify 2 Australian identity documents, such as a passport or drivers licence. ServiceConnect requires at least a Standard identity strength.

Login steps 

After setting up a myGovID, follow these steps to login to ServiceConnect:

  1. Return to this web page.
  2. Select the 'Continue with Digital Identity' button on this page.
  3. Select myGovID as the identity provider.
  4. Follow instructions on myGovID How to use it.

Access inside the Defence network

Login to the Defence network and either select the ‘ServiceConnect’ icon on the Desktop or search for ‘ServiceConnect’ on the intranet.
