The ADF women’s netball masters team showcased their talent and teamwork at the Pan-Pacific Masters Games held on the Gold Coast from November 1 to 10, finishing third.

Including international and domestic teams from military and civilian backgrounds, the tournament gave the ADF team an opportunity to build relationships and expand professional networks.

Vice-Captain Corporal Amy Britten said the opportunity to travel and meet new people was a great experience.

“I feel fortunate to have spent the past 12 days with such a remarkable group of teammates,” Corporal Britten said.

First-time coach Warrant Officer Class One (WO1) Darren Wasley said the networking with other services was invaluable for enhancing capabilities across Defence.

“Not only in Defence sport but also in joint training, exercises and operational roles,” WO1 Wasley said.

Corporal Britten said competing against a variety of teams with different strengths allowed them to refine strategies and adapt their gameplay.

“This experience highlighted the incredible support we received from our teammates and coaching staff within Defence,” she said.
