Personnel from No. 2 Squadron based at RAAF Base Williamtown committed to a fundraising drive for veteran charity Soldier On.
Octobeard involved members donating $75 to grow a beard through the month of October.
Fundraising coordinator and committee member Squadron Leader Tim McDowell said members were keen to take part.
“More than 90 squadron members participated raising a total of $7220,” Squadron Leader McDowell said.
“The funds raised will support veterans and families through Solider On programs. It’s all part of our squadron’s enduring commitment to support our veteran community.
“We're really proud of the outcome which also generated greater awareness of the important support veteran charity organisations provide.”
Solider On services aim to help veterans build resilience and create and expand meaningful connections with family, community and employers through their health and wellbeing services, employment programs, learning opportunities and participation activities.
These activities form part of Soldier On’s commitment and mission to enable veterans and their families to thrive.
