Awareness training
Online training is offered via Defence's Learn eXcel Perform (LXP) to assist in understanding when permits are required and aid regulatory compliance.

Outreach program
Defence hosts virtual and face-to-face sessions about Australia’s defence export controls framework to raise awareness, provide guidance to support compliance.
Current outreach sessions are targeted at helping stakeholders navigate the legislative changes introduced in September 2024. Sessions have so far included:
- Deep dives: Short webinars focused on key topics.
- Information sessions: Combined sessions with government partners tailored to individual sectors.
Planning is underway for further sessions in 2025.

Information Sessions (December 2024)
Defence also held 10 national outreach sessions from July – September 2024. One of these introductory information sessions can be viewed at the Australian Academy of Science website.
Stakeholder engagement sessions
Defence offered 1-1 engagement sessions for stakeholders from September – November 2024 to discuss the AUKUS licence-free environment and new offences. 54 sessions were facilitated, with over 300 questions answered.
1-1 sessions are currently paused while wider outreach events are conducted ahead of the 1 March 2025 compliance deadline.
