Defence engages the public through outreach and training, helping inform and educate stakeholders on how to meet their obligations under Australia’s defence export control laws.
Awareness training
Online training is offered via Defence's Learn eXcel Perform (LXP) to assist in understanding when permits are required and aid regulatory compliance.
- Users with a Defence email address can access LXP: Official Sensitive on the Defence Protected Environment.
- Users without a Defence email address can login to LXP: Global (instructions provided in PDF).

Outreach program
Defence hosts virtual and face-to-face sessions about Australia’s defence export controls framework to raise awareness and provide guidance to support compliance.

Stakeholder engagement sessions
Defence offered one to one engagement sessions for stakeholders from September–November 2024 to discuss the AUKUS licence-free environment and new offences. 54 sessions were facilitated, with over 300 questions answered.
