Woomera Prohibited Area Coordination Office
The Woomera Prohibited Area Coordination Office is a joint Australian Government—South Australian Government office established to administer non-Defence use of the Woomera Prohibited Area (WPA).
The office was established following the Australian Government’s endorsement of the recommendations of the Government Review of the Woomera Prohibited Area Final Report on 3 May 2011.
The WPA Coordination Office’s objectives are to:
- administer all aspects of non-Defence access to the WPA
- develop a comprehensive range management framework
- ensure a consistent and coordinated approach to approving non-Defence access to the WPA, while preserving Australia’s national interests.
