About the base

Holsworthy Barracks has one of the Army's major footprints within NSW and is home to a number of Army and tri-service training institutions as well as various Regular and Reserve Army Units. Holsworthy Barracks is also the staging location for domestic operations in NSW and covers almost 20,000 hectares.

Prepare Officers and Sailors of the Royal Australian Navy to go to sea and to be a part of the team that contributes to Fleet commitments and outcomes - 'to fight and win at sea'. The Base is Navy's premier maritime warfare training establishment for all ranks from Junior Sailors to Commanding Officers.

Access

Only vehicles that have a pass, Defence vehicles, or resident's vehicles are allowed through the main gate. Exceptions are delivery vehicles or contractors carrying out work, this is managed at the access control barrier.

About the base

The Navy's lead establishment for mine warfare, and home to Australia's Mine Countermeasures Force, Clearance Diving Team One and a fleet of minehunter vessels.

Access

Access through the gangway on Waterhen Drive. Out of hours contractor work is to be cleared.

7 am – 4 pm Monday – Thursday

7 am – 1 pm Friday

Road rules

Speed limit is not to exceed 10 km/h when overtaking formed military members.

About the base

HMAS Penguin is part of the Navy’s Fleet Command and was commissioned on 14 July 1942. Its primary role today is to provide trained personnel to the Fleet and is the home of the Australian Defence Force Diving School, the RAN Hydrographic School and other specialist units and medical facilities.

About the base

Overlooking Fleet Base East, HMAS Kuttabul provides administrative, training and logistics support to personnel within the Sydney area.

Access

Vehicle access is restricted to only vehicles supporting site capability. Vehicles supporting equipment must use lane one.

Prime contractors will only be issued 2 car passes.

The use of skateboards, roller skates, scooters and similar devices are banned at all times.

The catching and removing of fish or marine species is prohibited.

About the base

HMAS Albatross, Naval Air Station Nowra, is the Navy's largest operational establishment with a long history of naval aviation support. It is home to Fleet Air Arm Headquarters and over 20 diverse resident units and aviation squadrons.

HMAS Albatross is a truly tri-service unit. It has significant input from Army, Navy and Air Force as well as the Australian Public Service and contracted services. The Fleet Air Arm Museum is located at HMAS Albatross.

About the base

Site activities are limited to predominantly office/administration. The nearest train stations are located at Town Hall and Museum Railway Station. The office is also a short distance to a number of Sydney Bus Services.

Access

Visitors are only permitted on site during visitor hours unless other arrangements have been made in advance. There is no onsite parking however multiple commercial parking facilities are located in close proximity.

Smoking, including e-cigarettes and vapes, is prohibited in the entire facility.

Provides storage, maintenance and disposal of explosive ordnance along with ordnance training to meet Service capabilities

Access

Access past Checkpoint 2 and 3 is restricted and will require a specific pass and approval.

Any person booking a Taxi/Uber/Hire Car will be required to meet the driver at the front gate carpark.

Speed limit is 40 km/h throughout the Base unless otherwise signposted and not to exceed 10 km/h when overtaking formed parties of military members.

About the base

Is used as a headquarters of the 8th Brigade and Air Force cadets.

Access

Taxis and ride share service are not permitted. Delivery drivers will not be granted access to the base unless the recipient is available to accept delivery in person.

8 am – 4 pm Monday – Friday.

Road rules

On parade nights during school terms and on selected weekends all other vehicles are to be removed from the car park opposite building eight.

About the base

All enlisted into the RAAF complete Recruit Training at the 1st Recruit Training Unit. RAAF Base Wagga is also a major centre for technical and non-technical, initial employment training and postgraduate training.

Access

Bringing animals on to the base requires prior approval from the Base Manager.

Unauthorised vehicles are not to be driven or parked on restricted or airside areas.

Any photo taking is to be pre-approved with an exemption granted for March Out parades.
