Functions
The Pialligo South land was formerly buffer land for RAAF Fairbairn and has a varied history of use, including as a sand and gravel mine, a garbage tip, and for storage of materials and by-products by the Commonwealth and the ACT Government. A section of this site is licensed to Canberra Concrete Recyclers.
This site was declared surplus to Defence requirements in 2012 and divestment is underway.
This site has not been used by Defence since 1940 and is licenced to a civilian operator for commercial activities.
