Pay and Conditions
The WRA is the framework through which annual salary and salary-related allowance adjustments are provided for ADF members, and forms part of the total remuneration package. The Directorate of Military Remuneration is the lead for the development of the WRA.
The WRA 2017-2020 delivered an increase of two per cent per year for three years to salary and salary-related allowances of ADF members, without the loss of any conditions of service. The last two per cent increase was paid in November 2019. The current Arrangement will expire on 11 November 2020.
As stated in the CDF Signal, a proposition of two per cent per annum for a three-year period, with no loss of conditions of service to fund the WRA, will be submitted to the Defence Force Remuneration Tribunal for consideration in August 2020.
Consistent with the Government's direction for a six-month deferral of APS pay rises, it is intended that the first WRA payment will be delayed from November 2020 to May 2021, with the second and third payments in November 2021 and November 2022, respectively.
ADF members are encouraged to submit feedback through their unit command for submission to the appropriate Service Headquarters. However, individuals can also provide direct feedback to the Director of Military Remuneration. Contact details are listed below.
