Defence has signed a multi-year Deed of Standing Offer (the Deed) with Google Australia Pty Ltd (Google Australia) to deliver enhanced, secure and air-gapped hyperscale cloud capability for Defence’s ICT Environment.

This Deed will support Defence’s transition to modern cloud-based infrastructure under projects DEF 2222 and JP 9111.

Defence will have access to advanced global cloud solutions to deliver key sovereign capabilities. The technology will support faster rollout of critical systems, ongoing upgrades and improved cooperation with international partners, while ensuring Australia retains control of critical Defence assets.

Hyperscale cloud technologies will provide Defence with end-to-end capability – from the cloud to the edge – to enable operation in complex environments.

Embracing cloud, AI, and edge computing will help enable faster, smarter, and more secure Defence operations. 

Defence will continue to work closely with industry to deliver secure, scalable platforms that meet strategic needs and support national security objectives.
