Defence has received a strong and positive community response to the Expression of Interest (EOI) for Bullsbrook scheme water connections in the RAAF Base Pearce PFAS Management Area.
As of 8 July 2022, 88 property owners have responded to the EOI, with over 90 per cent indicating they would connect to the scheme water network. A small number are currently undecided, while one property indicated they would not connect.
Based on the number and location of property owners who have responded, Defence has commenced the detailed design process for scheme water infrastructure, which is expected to take approximately six months. Feature survey and geotechnical survey works are underway. This detailed design process will inform a tender for construction works, intended for release in early 2023. The infrastructure design was presented to the community on 21 June 2022.
Responses to the EOI are not binding. Defence acknowledges that property owners need to see and understand detailed formal arrangements.
By end September 2022, Defence expects to provide property owners with details of works Defence will fund to connect properties to mains infrastructure and to ensure plumbing within a property can accommodate scheme water.

Note for property owners: The number of property owners who choose to connect will determine the final design. The EOI process remains open, and can be completed online by any eligible property owners who still wish to respond using this form.
Over the coming weeks, Defence is reaching out to property owners who have not responded to the EOI to answer questions and identify any further interest in connecting to scheme water.
