Cancellation of The Australian International Airshow 2021

10 August 2021

In response to the COVID-19 situation in Australia a decision has been made to cancel the 2021 Australian International Airshow due to be held at Avalon, Victoria from 28 November to 5 December 2021.

The 2021 Australian International Airshow (AIA21) was an opportunity for the Royal Australian Air Force to commemorate the conclusion of its centenary year in partnership with the airshow organisers, the AMDA Foundation, and international military and industry partners.

The AIA21 had already been delayed from February 2021. The ongoing COVID-19 situation, internationally and domestically, has led to the difficult decision to cancel the event to safeguard the health and wellbeing of the Australian community and to provide certainty to Defence’s international and industry partners.

Defence looks forward to working with the AMDA Foundation and our partners to deliver the next Australian International Airshow in the first quarter of 2023.

The biennial Australian International Airshow and Aerospace and Defence Exposition is one of the Asia-Pacific’s most prestigious events and the most comprehensive aviation, aerospace and defence exposition in the southern hemisphere.
