The Australian Defence Force joined military partners from Japan and the United States in a joint integrated exercise, the second time the three nations have conducted the activity in a trilateral format.
The week‑long training exercise reflected a growing focus on strengthening multilateral defence cooperation across the Indo‑Pacific.
ADF personnel deployed across multiple locations in Hawaii and Japan took part, enhancing interoperability, refining combined command‑and‑control processes in a dynamic operational environment, and testing strategic communications between geographically dispersed headquarters.
The trilateral framework reflects a shared commitment to improving coordination and responding collectively to emerging regional security challenges.
Director-General Joint Collective Training Commodore Phillipa Hay said the exercise highlighted Australia’s commitment to working closely with key regional partners.
“The value of joint integrated exercises lies not only in building collective capability, but also in the relationships we strengthen,” Commodore Hay said.
“These partnerships underpin our ability to respond together to emerging challenges and ensure we remain prepared for the future.
“The continued expansion of the trilateral program enhances preparedness, improves coordination and reaffirms the three nations’ dedication to maintaining a stable, secure and resilient Indo‑Pacific region.”
