Deputy Chief of Navy Rear Admiral Matt Buckley accepted a $25,000 donation from Navy Health in support of the Navy charity, Keeping Watch.
The contribution continues Navy Health’s longstanding partnership with Navy and reinforces its commitment to supporting the wellbeing of Navy personnel and their families.
Keeping Watch can provide immediate financial assistance and a compassionate response to serving Navy members who are experiencing unexpected hardship. The charity acts as a vital safety net for families facing sudden challenges such as medical emergencies, unforeseen expenses, or difficult and sometimes tragic circumstances. These pressures can be particularly acute over holiday periods, when financial strain and personal crises often intensify.
Chair of the RAN Relief Trust Fund Commodore Shane Glassock also welcomed the contribution, noting its practical impact.
“Navy Health’s generous support strengthens our ability to act quickly and compassionately when members need us most,” he said.
“We remain deeply grateful for Navy Health’s enduring partnership and commitment.”
As a trusted, long-serving partner to the Navy community, Navy Health’s Chief Executive Officer Ron Wilson spoke on their continued support of the wellbeing of those who serve.
“At Navy Health, our commitment is clear: to support the health, wellbeing and resilience of our Defence community in valuable and practical ways,” Mr Wilson said.
“Supporting those who serve is central to our purpose. Keeping Watch plays a key role in helping Navy families through unexpected hardship, and we are pleased to be able to contribute to an organisation that makes such a meaningful difference.”
