Larry Staggs has recently been recognised for his long-term commitment to the Australian Public Service (APS), marking a significant milestone for his career and Defence.
With 20 years of public service under his belt, Mr Staggs received the APS Long Service Award from Chief of Joint Capabilities, Lieutenant General Susan Coyle, on October 1 at the Joint Logistics Unit, Lavarack Barracks, in North Queensland.
Mr Staggs commenced with the APS in June 2004 and across his service served the North Queensland region with distinction as the maintenance services manager for Joint Logistics Unit.
Prior to joining the APS, Mr Staggs served in the ADF between 1978 and 2004 where he attained the rank of Warrant Officer Class 1 within the Royal Australian Army Ordnance Corps.
Lieutenant General Coyle said throughout Mr Staggs’ Defence career he had been a forthright and trusted adviser, generously sharing his logistics knowledge and experience.
“His mentorship has positively influenced colleagues at all levels, including commanding officers and the executive team,” Lieutenant General Coyle said.
“Mr Staggs’ contributions have been instrumental in strengthening logistics and maintenance operations within Joint Logistics Command in support of all regional dependencies and is congratulated on this award.”
Mr Staggs’ decades of service have set a high standard in Defence logistics, and Joint Logistics Command is proud to have benefited from his significant contribution to Defence and the nation.
