With more than 111 different nationalities represented in its workforce, one Australian organisation can boast career opportunities where people such as Amit Jindal can truly succeed.
Leading Aircraftman Amit Jindal is a personnel capability specialist with the Royal Australian Air Force's Directorate of Personnel Branch in Canberra.
Born in India, he was studying information technology before changing to hospitality, where he first worked in Tasmania as a chef before enlisting in the ADF.
"It was a childhood dream to join the Air Force and I was an air force cadet in India before moving to Australia in 2005," Leading Aircraftman Jindal said.
"I received Australian citizenship in 2010 and I was looking for a way to repay Australia for all it has given me.
"I was unsure at first, but Defence Force Recruiting encouraged me to fulfil my life's dream and join the ADF as a cook and I haven't looked back."
A recipient of an Australia Day medallion for his work with No. 452 Squadron, Leading Aircraftman Jindal has aspirations to become an officer.
"In the future, I want to develop my career and I have now remustered into the personnel capability specialist mustering and for now I will focus on improving my skills in my new role and continuing to learn about the different aspects of Air Force work," he said.
