Invictus Games Düsseldorf 2023

Invictus Games Düsseldorf 2023 was held from 9-16 September 2023.

The Invictus Games is an international sporting event for wounded, injured and ill serving and former serving military personnel. The games use the power of sport to support recovery, rehabilitation and generate wider understanding and respect for those who serve their country.

The Invictus Games were held in Germany were jointly hosted by The German Federal Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) and the City of Düsseldorf.

Around 500 competitors from 22 nations as well as around 1,000 family members and friends took part in the event. Competitors competed in 10 individual and team sports including:

  • archery
  • athletics
  • indoor rowing
  • powerlifting
  • cycling
  • sitting volleyball
  • table tennis
  • swimming
  • wheelchair basketball
  • wheelchair rugby.

The Australian Defence Force (ADF) and Invictus Australia partnered to send a combined team of 31 current and former serving ADF members.
