Ending 2022 on a high, 18 soldiers learnt new skills to further enable the Australian Antarctic Program’s next big mission.

The Australian Defence Force is providing assistance to the Western Australian Government in the Kimberley region where heavy rainfall from Ex-Tropical Cyclone Ellie has isolated communities. At the request of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Defence is providing transport aircraft and helicopters to assist in the evacuation of flood-affected residents. Defence continues to work closely with NEMA in monitoring disasters affecting the community.
