The majority of the Arafura Class Offshore Patrol Vessel fleet are intended to be constructed, along with the ongoing maintenance activities for those vessels and the Hunter Class Frigates, at the Australian Marine Complex, Henderson.
Office Accommodation is proposed to support these proposed ship activities with a large facility proposed to be constructed on the western side of the proposed site. This facility will support the Arafura Class Offshore Patrol Vessels and Hunter Class Frigates and their crews when the vessels are in maintenance at the adjacent site. The building will also house administration and management functions to support the continuous ship construction activities for the Arafura Class Offshore Patrol Vessel. An artist impression of this facility is show in Figure 8.
Though-life logistics and maintenance facilities are also proposed to be constructed on the eastern side of the site.
Engineering services infrastructure will be provided for each of the facilities, including electrical supply and distribution, roads and carparking, site access control, and stormwater and sewerage.
