Facilities For JP157 Replacement Aviation Refuelling Vehicles

Community Consultation

The Department of Defence is undertaking a consultation and communications strategy that recognises the importance of providing the local community, statutory authorities and other interested stakeholders an opportunity to provide input into, or raise concerns relating to the project.

As part of the community consultation strategy, the Federal and State Parliamentary members for each of project works sites are being consulted, as well as local councils and Chamber of Commerce, where appropriate.

The proposed works are subject to approval by the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Works (PWC), which conducts inquiries into such matters prior to making a decision.

Public Information Sessions

The Department of Defence will hold public Information sessions to provide information to the community regarding the proposed facilities. These are being held at the sites with the larger shelters at Richmond, Williamtown, Edinburgh and Townsville.
