Implementation & Operation

The implementation and operation of engineering services is defined by the Estate Engineering Governance and Integrity System.

The EEGIS Information Handbook provides guidance to project officers, policy owners, industry and maintainers on how to engage together to build compliance, risk and assurance activities into the estate life-cycle.

The EEGIS Handbook also consists of support material and tools that can be used to guide decision-making. All support material and tools can be found below.

  • The Defence estate engineering toolbox splits the Defence estate into asset class types in accordance with the One Estate Asset Management Framework. The Defence estate engineering toolbox provides useful guidance on current policy, templates, data and information, reference material and policy owner.
  • The EEGIS fact sheets provide detailed information on primary EEGIS support material, including the performance solution/dispensation process and guidance on the engineering policy and services feedback template.
  • The engineering policy and services feedback template will be the primary engagement tool to be used across project officers, policy owners and maintainers to seek advice on new and built estate.
  • Fire Safety Survey policy is detailed in the Manual of Fire Protection Engineering (MFPE) Chapter 8. Guidelines and a template for Fire Safety Surveys are also available at the Fire Safety Engineering page.
