Deployable Defence Air Traffic Management and Control System

The AIR5431 Phase 1 Project is delivering a Deployable Defence Air Traffic Management and Control System (DDATMCS) comprising 2 mobile systems and one larger transportable system. Each of the three systems are made up of a mix of surveillance radars, shelters, Project Land 121 vehicles and associated electronic systems.

The DDATMCS will replace the Transportable Air Surveillance Radar (TASR) that was previously in service with the Royal Australian Air Force.

All 3 systems were delivered by Indra Sistemas in January 2023, and are going through system accreditation, system of systems integration, and operational test and evaluation. A DDATMCS mobile system was successfully deployed by Air Force to RAAF Base Curtin as part of Exercise Talisman Sabre 2023.
