Overview

The United Nations Military Observer course (UNMOC) is a prerequisite for Australian Defence Force personnel deploying on international United Nations missions as United Nations Military Observers, Military Liaison Officers or Military Advisers. The course is only available for ADF personnel identified for UN deployments.

Course is suitable and recommended for Australian Federal Police or Australian Public Servants who will deploy within a United Nations field environment.

• UNMOC session 1: 21 September – 7 October 2026
• UNMOC session 2: 10 – 26 May 2027

Learning outcomes

The training prepares personnel for roles as military observers within United Nations peace operations.

English Language Skills (ADFELPS L6, S6, R6, W6; IELTS L5.5, S5.5, R5.5, W5.5)
