The Defence’s Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group in partnership with Austal Defence Australia hosted an industry briefing focused on the Strategic Shipbuilding Agreement.
Rear Admiral Michael Houghton, RAN, Head Patrol Boats and Specialist Ships, and representatives from Austal Defence Australia provided updates to Western Australian shipbuilders and supply chain partners on the execution of the Strategic Shipbuilding Agreement.
The briefing outlined how the Strategic Shipbuilder model will operate in practice and detailed the next steps for implementation.
Defence West also presented an update on the Western Australian Government’s Industry Support Program, highlighting opportunities for local industry engagement and support.
