Defence works with all non-Defence users, including pastoral lease holders, to minimise disruption from Defence testing in the Woomera Prohibited Area (WPA). 

For legacy pastoral lease holders, compensation for loss or damage arising from Defence testing in the WPA is provided for in Regulation 36 of the Defence Force Regulations 1952 as preserved by section 87 of the Defence Regulation 2016.
