Transition Seminars provide Australian Defence Force (ADF) members and their families access to information, supports and services to prepare them for transition into to civilian life. 

It is mandatory for members, including star ranked officers, to attend a Transition Seminar event within 12 months of their separation date.

Seminars provide information on programs and services provided by:

  • Joint Transition Authority
  • Joint Health Command
  • Department of Veterans’ Affairs
  • Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation
  • ADF Financial Consumer Services Centre
  • Ex-Service Organisations (ESOs).

ADF Member and Family Transition Seminar Program

The 2026 ADF Member and Family Transition Seminar Program, including the Senior Leadership Group (SLG) seminars for star ranked officers, is provided below.

Registrations are open to ADF members, SLG, family members and support persons.

Delivery

Transition Seminars are delivered in 3 formats:

  • face-to-face
  • virtual-live – interactive
  • virtual non-interactive, access available 24/7.

Participants must use a defence email address for registration purposes. If the defence email address cannot be accessed, please provide a personal email address to receive all correspondence.

Registrations to attend a seminar is via the ADF Member and Family Transition Seminar Registration form.

Registrations will close:

  • 10 days prior to a face-to-face event, or when venue capacity limit is reached
  • 3 days prior to any virtual offering

If registration is required after the closed date contact transition.seminar@defence.gov.au.

Registered attendees who are unable to attend a seminar should notify promptly via transition.seminar@defence.gov.au.
