The Defence Corporate Plan has been updated for the 2021-25 period in accordance with Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 requirements.
The Corporate Plan sets out Defence’s purpose and mission, covering the activities Defence will undertake to achieve the purpose and to manage enterprise risks.
It also describes how Defence will build organisational capability to support our national security interests and promote them in a region that is growing more complex and dynamic, as described in the 2020 Defence Strategic Update and 2020 Force Structure Plan.
The Corporate Plan covers four financial years and is updated at least annually or when there are significant changes to Defence’s environment or strategic direction.
Defence reports against performance criteria in the Corporate Plan through annual performance statements that are included in the Annual Report.
The Defence Corporate Plans since 2018 can be also be found on the Australian Government Transparency Portal, the central repository of publicly available corporate information for all Commonwealth bodies.
