United States Force Posture Initiatives Airfield Works

Overview

RAAF Base Tindal is located 15 km outside Katherine and 320 km south-east of Darwin in the Northern Territory.

The United States Force Posture Initiative (USFPI) Airfield Works project aims to increase the capacity of RAAF Base Tindal to support KC-30A Multi Role Tanker Transport operations. This forms a key part of the core Air Power role of air mobility, including air-to-air refuelling and air logistics support missions.

The project also aims to support the USFPI by improving accessibility for United States Air Force aircraft.
