Community information session

Defence is holding a community information session about the divestment. This is an opportunity for the community to speak with Australian Government representatives about the divestment process, transition planning and next steps.

This site is known as Labuan Barracks, the site is located 19km south-east of the Melbourne central business district. Sandringham Training Depot was constructed circa 1980. Sandringham Training Depot is one of 4 depots in the southeast region of Melbourne that are located within 12km of each other.

This site serves as a Army Reserves and Cadet training facility

Relocation

Sandringham Training Depot personnel will relocate Oakleigh Training Depot, 12km away.

Cadet units will remain in the region and relocate to Oakleigh Training Depot, 12km away, or a new lease at a community venue or school. Defence will engage with potential venues to facilitate this.
