Community information session
Defence is holding a community walk-in information session about the divestment. This is an opportunity for the community to speak with Australian Government representatives about the divestment process, transition planning and next steps.

Training Ship Tamar is a leased facility used for Australian Navy Cadets parading and training.
This site serves as a Navy Cadet training facility.

The Defence Estate Audit recommendations will enhance Defence work environments, ensuring our estate is a key point of attraction and is fit-for-purpose for both current and future members of the workforce. These improvements will strengthen the overall appeal of working for Defence.
Relocation
Cadets will remain in the region and relocate to the new tri‑service Cadet depot in Launceston or to a new lease at a community venue or school. Defence will engage with potential venues to facilitate this.
