Defence held an information session in Canungra in April 2026 to engage with the community on the Defence Audit and divestment of sites. Community members shared valuable local insights and feedback with Defence. This feedback will help inform transition planning and next steps.

Functions

This parcel of land identified for partial divestment is currently licenced to the Canungra Golf Club for a 9-hole golf course. The land for partial divestment has been in use as a golf course since the 1970s.

This site is operated as a public golf course through a licence agreement with a civilian operator. Government will engage with existing tenants as part of the divestment process.
