Community information session
Defence is holding a community walk-in information session about the divestment. This is an opportunity for the community to speak with Australian Government representatives about the divestment process, transition planning and next steps.

Training Ship York is a leased facility used for Australian Navy Cadets parading and training.
This site serves as a Navy Cadet training facility.

People are and will remain Defence's most important capability.
Relocation
Cadets will remain in the region and relocate to the new tri‑service Cadet depot in North Launceston or to a new lease at a community venue or school. Defence will engage with potential venues to facilitate this.
