The Australian Government recognises that some Defence sites identified for divestment in the Defence Estate Audit have strong historical, cultural and community significance.

In order to deliver the future estate, Defence is holding community information sessions to share information about the Defence Estate Audit and what divestments may mean for local areas.

Defence understands that local communities may have questions about history, heritage, community use, local impacts and future opportunities. These sessions are intended to help people access information and raise matters that are important to them.

At each session, Defence will provide:

  • an overview of the implementation of the Defence Estate Audit
  • information relevant to the local site or area
  • advice on the proposed divestment process and next steps
  • an opportunity to ask questions and share feedback.
