Defence held information sessions in Victoria in April 2026 to engage with the community on the Defence Audit and divestment of sites. Community members shared valuable local insights and feedback with Defence. This feedback will help inform transition planning and next steps.

This site is located approximately 1.5 km northeast of Melbourne’s central business district. The site includes 2 buildings comprising of offices.
The site serves as office space and training facility for Army Reserves, including the University of Melbourne regiment.

Relocation
Carlton Training Depot personnel will relocate to Mt Waverley Training Depot (20km), including Reserves.
Personnel performing administrative functions will relocate to Defence Plaza Melbourne, 3 km away.
