A privacy impact assessment (PIA) is a review of an activity that identifies the impact it might have on the privacy of individuals, and sets out recommendations for managing, minimising or eliminating that impact.
Under the Privacy (Australian Government Agencies) APP Code 2017, all agencies must conduct a PIA for all high privacy-risk projects.
