Eight students from Southern Cross Grammar in Melbourne had a great time participating in Defence Science and Technology Group (DST) first work placement program in Victoria.
The program run under the Defence Work Experience Program was held in Melbourne from Monday 18 November 2019 – Friday 22 November 2019.
During their placement students were able to enjoy interactive activities from different science disciplines within DST. This included chemistry, biology, ballistics, human movement and ergonomic workshops.
This experience provided the students with a rich overview of the varied work that DST undertakes as the lead agency responsible for applying science and technology to safeguard Australia.
The DWEP program continues to play an increasingly important role in showcasing a range of career pathways available in the Australian Defence Force and Australian Public Service to students at secondary school, university, TAFE or other places of education.
