You may get carer's leave to care for and support a dependant when they are sick or injured, or affected by an unexpected emergency.

You may get carer's leave if you need to care for a:
A member with dependants (unaccompanied) may also get carer's leave.
You may get 10 working days of carer's leave in a year. Any day you are on duty counts towards the 10 days.
You may get additional carer's leave if you need it. This depends on whether you have other leave you can use or other care you can access.
You can take carer's leave for short periods at different times during the year. It doesn't accrue.
You can only get a maximum of two days for an unexpected emergency.
If you take more than 3 days in a row, you have to provide a medical certificate or similar evidence.
Your supervisor may ask for evidence if you take less than 3 days in a row.
