What is the nature of your injury or illness?

Multiple physical and mental injuries.

What role has sport played in your rehabilitation?

Sport is playing a major role in my road to recovery. It has re-booted my life and enabled me to move forward with purpose once again.

What is your greatest achievement to date?

Being a role model to my daughters, showing them that through any adversity there is always a way to reach the stars.

Why did you apply for the Invictus Games?

I knew I had to do something and sport, for me, has always been a positive outlet. Watching the Invictus Games Sydney 2018 gave me the incentive to set goals to improve my way of life.

What will “winning” look like for you at these games?

Firstly, participation: then exultation from exceeding my personal bests; and finally win, lose or draw, the feeling of being part of a team once again.

The person I most admire is...

My wife Elaine who has been there for me through my darkest times. She has always been by my side with a beautiful smile, a gorgeous heart and the strength to keep picking me up.
