Fish Consumption Advice

On 18 December 2020 Environment Protection Authority (EPA) Victoria updated its advice about fish consumption to include carp caught in the Kiewa River, between Bakers Lane and the Cudgewa- Wodonga Rail Trail, inclusive of the flood plain area bound by Bakers Lane and the Murray Valley Highway.

This consumption advice was issued following testing of PFAS levels in plants and animals undertaken by Defence near Bandiana Military Area.

People who have eaten carp are not considered to be at risk of any adverse health effects.
