DASA wishes to advise that the Defence Aviation Safety Manual (DASM) AL1 is expected to be released on 01 Nov 19.  As a result both the first edition of the DASM and AAP 6734.001 will be cancelled on 01 Nov 19.


The following is a summary of these changes in AL1. Note that the changes are minor or editorial in nature:

-          Update to NTS training framework

-          Alignment of Generative Safety Culture guidance with NTS Guidebook

-          Update to Safety Organisation Structure Force Preparation requirements

-          Update guidance on use of Safety Behaviour Management Tool

-          Update to Risk Management training

-          Update to Hazard Reporting and Tracking, ASR and SALUS policy

-          Update to Investigation policy

-          Update to Snapshot guidance


Future development of the DASM is subject to a change management plan facilitated by the DASA Safety Management System Community of Practice (SMS CoP) and hosted by DFSB. Participation by key stakeholders is invited. Planned improvements includes better alignment between the document and DASR SMS Regulations.
