Overview of Placement: Students will work alongside qualified and highly skilled Defence civilian personnel from Land Engineering Agency (LEA). LEA provides test services in the fields of Mechanical, Environmental, Vehicle, Electrical Power, Electromagnetic Environmental Effects, Electro-optics, and Communications testing. Items tested cover the whole range of fielded military hardware including vehicles, plant, field power generators, weapons, image intensifier and thermal surveillance systems, communications equipment and soldier support systems. Students will deliver a presentation to their supervisors on what they have learnt throughout the week on the final day of placement. Work Experience coordinators are strongly encouraged to attend.
Special Conditions of Placement: Preference given to students residing in the local area and who have a keen interest in the field of engineering. Transport options to and from LEA Monegeetta are very limited. Please ensure that you are able to get to and from this placement each day before considering applying.
