Overview of Placement: Military Police Officers lead operational policing in both the domestic environment and in operational theatres overseas. In this work experience placement, students will be hosted by A Company, 1st Military Police Battalion and will gain knowledge and understanding about Combat MP capability. Students will also be exposed to the Domestic Policing Unit (DPU) and the Joint Investigation Office (JIO) when they tour these units as part of the placement. Students will also be exposed to the wider functions, roles and responsibilities of Army life as they are shown places of interest and participate in activities around Lavarack Barracks.
Special Conditions of Placement: Applicants should have a genuine interest in a career with the ADF.

Applicants will need to be physically fit as they may be required to participate in unit PT (Physical Training) sessions.

It is an OH&S requirement of this placement that students wear long pants (jeans, cargo pants etc) and closed in footwear (eg trainers) to participate fully in work experience with the Military Police.
