Overview of Placement:

Lavarack Health Centre provides health support to the Australian Defence Force and ensures the preparedness of ADF personnel for operations.

As part of this placement, students will receive a comprehensive overview of the various Health Corps as they rotate through various health care providers. Students may be involved in the following program:

1 day with Physical Training Instructors

1day at Health Coy 3CSSB looking at field capability.
3 days at Lavarack Health Centre
*1 day Patient Care Unit
*1 day Physiotherapy dept
*1 day in the Regimental Aid Post

Students will have opportunities to interact and speak with medics and nurses from a clinical perspective, as well as general service officers with medical Corps.

Special Conditions of Placement: Students should have a demostrated interest in the medical/health fieldls and a desire to pursue this career path after school.

Students should be in good health and have a reasonable level of physical fitness as they may be required to participate in Army physical.
