Overview of Placement:	Students will undertake a structured program of naval activities providing participants with an insight into a wide range of Navy roles and employment opportunities. Work Experience Program will commence at 8.30am and finish at 3.00pm Monday to Wednesday. Thursday will commence at 8.30am and finish at 2.00pm. Students can expect to visit various units including: Logistics (Supply Officers/Cooks/Stewards/Naval Stores/ Writers), Dive Unit, Port Services (Bosuns), Armoury, Hydrographic Cell, Fleet Support Unit (Marine Technicians/ Electronic Technicians), Naval Police Coxswains, Communication Information Systems, Medics and Physical Trainers.
Special Conditions of Placement:	All students applying for and undertaking Work Experience at HMAS Cairns must be able to complete the Defence Force Recruiting Physical Fitness Test standards for Navy. (Males: 15 push ups, 20 sit ups, 6.1 Shuttle run/ beep test score. Females: 6 push ups, 20 sit ups, 6.1 Shuttle run/ beep test score). Students must wear covered shoes onboard. Students must have a genuine interest in the Navy as a career.
