Overview of Placement: B Squadron 3rd/4th Cav is an Armoured Personnel Carrier Squadron and is equipped with Bushmaster Protected Mobility Vehicles (PMVs). B Squadron provides protected mobility to the 3rd Brigade.

As part of this work experience placement, students will have the opportunity to observe and experience a range of roles and responsibilities across the Squadron, including those of Armoured Corps troopers, Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Ordinance staff, Transport staff, and may also be involved in other activities including visiting the Weapons Training Simulation System (WTSS), armoury, vehicle workshops, the Battle Simulations Centre and B Squadron's Museum.

Students may also have the opportunity to travel to the Townsville Field Training Area at High Range to observe the Squadron's participation in an Army training exercise. This visit will enhance students' understanding of the capabilities of the Squadron.

Work hours are approx 7.30am to 4.00pm each day.
Special Conditions of Placement: Applicants will need to be physically fit as they may be required to aprticipate in unit PT (Physical Training) sessions.

It is an OHS requirement that students wear long pants (jeans or cargo pants) and closed in footwear (boots or trainers) to participate fully in this placement.
