Type of Placements: View air traffic control in a military environment in a Learner/Observer capacity only.
Duration of Placement: 1 student per placement, NOTE: on occasions, operations may require the placement to be rescheduled, but this cant always be guaranteed
Placement Limits: 1 student per placement
Overview of Placement: Students will be exposed to a program of indoor and outdoor activities providing participants with an insight into Joint Battlefield Airspace Controllers (JBAC) conducting air traffic and approach control duties. Commencing at approx 8.00am and finishing at 3.30pm each day, participants will have the opportunity to witness the diverse role of the largest Air Force Base in Australia and experience operations under the close supervision of highly professional Defence personnel. NOTE: this placement will be offered to those students who study Maths B or C or interstate equivalent. Students who apply must also demonstrate a desire for work in the Air Force. This must be noted at the time of applying, failure to do so may delay the application process.
Special Conditions of Placement: Dress regulations and selection criteria will apply which include a written submission. Security limitations may also apply.

NOTE: There is no public transport to Amberley, participants are advised to arrange prompt drop off and pick up with their guardian/parents or school.
