Overview of Placement: 4 Regiment, Royal Australian Artillery, is an Artillery Regiment that coordinates and provides offensive support to the 3rd Brigade.

During this work experience placement, under the close supervision of highly professional ADF personnel, students will have the opportunity to observe and experience a range of roles and responsibilities in various sub-units across the Regiment, including mechanical and electrical workshops, gun battery and Q-store. Students may also be involved in other activities including visiting the Weapons Training Simulations System (WTSS), armoury and 4th Regiment's Museum.

Students may be required to participate in Physical Training each day, as part of the placement.

As part of this placement, students may have the opportunity to travel to the Townsville Field Training Area at High Range for one day, to observe live fire demonstrations as part of a Regimental exercise. This visit will enhance students' understanding of the capabilities of the Regiment.

Further information about this opportunity will be provided to successful applicants closer to the placement date.
Special Conditions of Placement: Students will travel in Defence vehicles High Range to observe live fire demonstrations. Permission for students to travel in Defence vehicles for this part of the placement will form part of the Defence Work Experience Agreement.

Students should have a reasonable degree of physical fitness in order to participate in work experience activities within the Regiment.

Students are to wear closed-in shoes for the duration of the placement.
