Location of Placement: Air Traffic Control Complex
Darwin International Airport
Placement Reference Number: ATCD2012 Applications must be received at least 1 month prior to the date of placement.
Dates of Placements: 12-16 March; 10-13 April; 7-11 May; 4-8 June; 3-7 Sep; 1-5 Oct; 5-9 Nov
Type of Placements: Experience air traffic control in a joint civil/military environment
Duration of Placement: 4 days (8.30am - 3pm each day)
Placement Limits: 2 students per placement
Overview of Placement: Observation of Air Traffic Control (ATC) duties in an operational control tower and approach cell. Interaction with RAAF ATC Officers during various shifts. Experience a complete shift cycle.
Special Conditions of Placement: Student photo ID to be carried at all times, covered footwear to be worn at all times. Additional security limitations may apply.
