| Overview of Placement: | The School of Infantry trains soldiers to fulfil their role as riflemen in the Army. Infantry is the primary combat arm of the Australian Army. The role of the Infantry is to seek out and close with the enemy, to kill or capture him, to seize and hold ground, repel attack, by day or by night, regardless of season weather or terrain. To carry out this role the Royal Australian Infantry Corps relies heavily on skilled tactics, effective teamwork and cooperation with other corps. Students will observe and participate in the training conducted by the School of Infantry. Activities may include physical training, participation in the weapons training simulation system, obstacle course, training activities conducted for the riflemen, and observation of live fire exercises. Commencing at 8:00am and finishing at 4:00pm each day, participants will have the opportunity to experience a series of military activities under the close supervision of highly professional military personnel. |
| Special Conditions of Placement: | Individuals must have a reasonable level of physical fitness, and not have any injuries or illness that would preclude physical activity or carrying a daypack in a field/bush environment. |
